Wellbeing appointment at home in the district of Brig

DomusHelp helps organize practical support to prepare, coordinate and safely frame simple wellbeing appointments at home in the district of Brig and Upper Valais. This subcategory concerns non-medical, non-therapeutic, non-invasive, non-urgent, non-psychological, non-sexual, non-ambiguous appointments that respect the person’s dignity: hairdressing at home, aesthetic comfort care, manicure, non-medical aesthetic pedicure, non-medical facial care, light beauty preparation, non-therapeutic wellbeing massage by a qualified provider, relaxation moment, preparation before a visit, appointment with a comfort provider, logistical accompaniment of an authorized provider or organization of a wellbeing moment clearly chosen by the person. The help may consist of clarifying the wish, checking that the appointment is adapted to the person’s pace, preparing a calm room, checking the provider’s access, gathering personal products already chosen, preparing a stable chair, sufficient light, a mirror, a towel, a water point or a rest space, noting practical information, confirming the time, checking the planned duration, preparing a question to ask the provider, recalling non-medical limits, passing sober information to an authorized person or referring to a healthcare professional, a CMS or SMZ, a social service, a beautician, a hairdresser, an insured wellbeing provider or a competent professional when the situation goes beyond a simple comfort appointment. The intervention must always remain respectful, discreet, non-intrusive, proportionate and based on the person’s clear consent, without pressure on appearance, without performance injunction, without humiliating comment, without deciding in their place, without medical manipulation, without diagnosis, without treatment, without prescription, without invasive procedure, without therapeutic massage, without physiotherapy, without osteopathy, without chiropractic care, without acupuncture, without wound care, without taking charge of pain, without promising healing, without unauthorized photography or publication, without unnecessary retention of personal data, without payment or contract commitment without a clear framework, and without replacing a doctor, dermatologist, medical podiatrist, physiotherapist, psychologist, healthcare professional, CMS or SMZ, competent authority, responsible relative or emergency service when safety, health, consent, pain, fatigue, vulnerability or protection of the person requires specialized assessment.

What this help covers

This help may concern the practical preparation of a clearly limited wellbeing appointment: finding a provider’s contact details, checking that it is a non-medical service, preparing a phone call or message, confirming a time, preparing the room, clearing a passage, making the phone accessible, planning a stable chair, preparing personal products, organizing a mirror, providing a clean towel, checking that the person will be able to rest after the appointment, informing an authorized relative if this has been accepted, or helping formulate simply what the person wants and what they refuse. DomusHelp can also help distinguish a comfort appointment from a situation requiring specialized referral: significant pain, wound, infection, persistent redness, known or suspected allergy, ongoing medical treatment, unusual fatigue, illness, confusion, return from hospital, significant fragility, difficulty consenting, family pressure, request imposed by a third party, grief situation, intense shame, distress linked to self-image, isolation, ambiguous service, unidentified provider, unclear price, promise of healing, or situation in which a healthcare professional, a CMS or SMZ, a social service, an authorized relative or a competent authority must be involved. The aim is to support a chosen comfort moment, without unnecessarily medicalizing the request, without minimizing risks, without exposing the person, without turning wellbeing care into a social obligation and without creating a false impression of safety.

DomusHelp does not replace a doctor, dermatologist, medical podiatrist, physiotherapist, psychologist, pharmacist, healthcare professional, CMS or SMZ, social service, protection authority, qualified beautician, hairdresser, insured wellbeing provider, responsible relative or emergency service. A wellbeing appointment at home must never hide a risk: vulnerable person under pressure, uncertain consent, pain, illness, confusion, wound, infection, allergy, burn, irritation, significant fatigue, breathing difficulty, skin reaction, suspicion of mistreatment, provider not identifiable, intimate or ambiguous service, promise of medical treatment, unsuitable body manipulation, person alone without a way to call, imposed payment, contract not understood, unauthorized photography or doubt about the safety of the situation. In case of immediate danger, illness, significant pain, allergic reaction, breathing difficulty, acute confusion, fall, open wound, suspected infection, pressure placed on the person, ambiguous service, inappropriate behaviour, threat, suspicion of violence or serious doubt about consent or safety, the intervention must stop and an emergency service, a healthcare professional, the CMS or SMZ, a social service, an authorized relative, a competent authority or the appropriate local service must be contacted without delay. DomusHelp does not make a diagnosis, does not validate a medical service, does not guarantee the result of an appointment, does not medically monitor the person, does not carry out therapeutic procedures, does not act as an intermediary for an ambiguous or dignity-harming service, does not publish any image without explicit agreement and does not guarantee absence of fatigue, reaction, discomfort or need for specialized help.

Preferred providers

Insured aesthetic wellbeing service

Suitable for simple, short and supervised help: preparing the appointment, organizing a calm room, checking the provider’s access, gathering personal products, preparing a chair, towel, mirror or sufficient light, confirming the time and passing on a practical update, without medical procedure, without ambiguous service, without pressure on the person and without deciding in their place.

Beautician, hairdresser or qualified wellbeing provider

Suitable when the person wants a more precise comfort service: hairdressing, manicure, non-medical aesthetic pedicure, non-medical facial care, make-up, relaxation, non-therapeutic wellbeing massage, or another clearly defined appointment, with insurance, suitable material, hygiene, professional limits, clear pricing and explicit consent from the person.

Healthcare professional, CMS/SMZ, social service or authorized relative

Suitable when the appointment concerns a fragile, very tired, painful, confused, recently hospitalized, isolated, grieving person, with loss of autonomy, under family pressure, presenting a wound, redness, allergy, distress or difficulty freely confirming their agreement. In these situations, health, dignity, safety and consent come before comfort.

Before the intervention

  • Identify precisely the type of appointment desired: hairdressing, aesthetics, manicure, aesthetic pedicure, non-medical care, relaxation or another clearly defined comfort service.
  • Ask the person directly what they want, what they refuse, what makes them comfortable and what must remain unchanged.
  • Check that the request truly comes from the person concerned or that they have given clear, free, current and understood agreement.
  • Clarify the provider’s identity: name, activity, phone number, time, planned duration, price, conditions, material brought and limits of the service.
  • Check that the appointment remains non-medical, non-therapeutic, non-invasive, non-ambiguous and adapted to the person’s situation.
  • Obtain clear agreement before any transmission of information, photo, payment, booking, room preparation or contact with a third party.
  • Prepare a simple space: stable chair, clear passage, sufficient light, mirror, towel, water nearby, small bin and possibility to rest.
  • Respect privacy and dignity: do not impose clothing, contact, appearance, presence of a third party or comment on the body.
  • Limit shared data to what is strictly necessary: address, time, general need, access, phone number and useful information accepted by the person.
  • Never keep sensitive data, passwords, banking information, medical documents or photos without an explicit framework and clear necessity.
  • Identify warning signs: pain, illness, unusual fatigue, confusion, wound, redness, allergy, anxiety, pressure from a third party or poorly understood service.
  • Plan an authorized contact if the person is fragile, lives alone, tires quickly or wants a relative to be informed of the appointment.
  • Check practical risks: rugs, cables, provider access, entrance door, bell, passage to the toilet, heating, ventilation and appointment duration.
  • Stop the intervention and refer to a professional in case of illness, pain, allergic reaction, confusion, pressure, inappropriate behaviour, doubt about the provider or doubt about consent.
