What this help covers

This help may concern a clearly limited light adaptation: bringing the phone, glasses, water, a lamp or a remote control closer, making a passage clearer, organizing a rest corner, repositioning a small table, making an everyday object more visible, grouping useful belongings near the bed, clarifying a kitchen area, making a low shelf more practical, preparing a light basket, moving a small object that gets in the way, improving access to an existing switch, organizing storage without emptying it completely, or preparing a request to a provider when the need goes beyond a simple adjustment. The aim is to improve the everyday use of the home without modifying the structure, without imposing a new organization, without removing the person’s landmarks and without creating false safety. Craftsperson, technical aids supplier, property management company or owner

Suitable when an adaptation requires specialized equipment, fixing, technical adjustment, modification of furniture, rental authorization, validation by the property management company, insurance responsibility, intervention on a heavy element or clearly defined professional competence.

Before the intervention

  • Identify precisely the area concerned: bedroom, living room, entrance, kitchen, bathroom, hallway, rest corner, storage or administrative space.
  • Ask the person what actually bothers them: object too far away, cluttered passage, difficulty reaching a lamp, fatigue, fear of falling or impractical organization.
  • Obtain clear agreement from the person concerned before moving any object, taking a photo, changing a habit, transmitting information or contacting a third party.
  • Respect existing landmarks: avoid changes that are too rapid, imposed, infantilizing or difficult to understand.
  • Start with one small area only in order to avoid fatigue, confusion, loss of landmarks or the feeling of being invaded.
